Supreme has joined forces with GOODENOUGH for a new Spring 2025 collection, reigniting one of the most influential names in Japanese street fashion. GOODENOUGH launched in 1990, founded by Hiroshi Fujiwara, one of the most influential designers in global street culture. Though Fujiwara closed the brand by the late ’90s, GOODENOUGH reshaped youth style in Japan and still influences streetwear today.

Fujiwara, a teenage punk fan in the early ’80s, began his exploration of global culture in London. He arrived looking for underground sound and fashion but quickly shifted course after Malcolm McLaren, a key figure in London’s punk movement, told him to go where the momentum was building: New York. Fujiwara followed the advice and immersed himself in the early stages of hip-hop’s move downtown. He returned to Tokyo loaded with records, DJ techniques, and new ideas, becoming one of the first people to introduce hip-hop culture to Japan.

“People were really hungry for information,” Fujiwara once said. “And, somehow, I had pretty good access because I had friends in London, New York, Los Angeles, everywhere.” That access fueled his design work, and when he launched GOODENOUGH, he channeled those experiences into clothes that brought together punk, hip-hop, skateboarding, BMX, and high-end Western fashion.

Working alongside designer SK8THING, Fujiwara offered utility-driven items like jackets, sweatshirts, and pants, all elevated through thoughtful graphics and limited production runs. He priced them on par with luxury fashion, reshaping consumer expectations and setting a standard that would define the streetwear market. His work directly influenced Jun Takahashi and Nigo, future founders of UNDERCOVER and A Bathing Ape, who worked closely with Fujiwara before launching their own projects. In 1993, the three opened NOWHERE, a Harajuku retail concept that quickly became a fixture of Tokyo’s style scene. By the late ’90s, Fujiwara stepped away from GOODENOUGH, choosing to move from large-scale brand operations to smaller design projects.

The Spring 2025 collection includes an expansive lineup: an MA-1 Jacket, Patchwork Jacket, Sweater, Patchwork Shirt, Crushed Rayon Shirt, Thermal, S/S Top, Hooded Sweatshirt, Patchwork Pant, Military Pant, Shorts, two T-Shirts, and three headwear styles, a 6-Panel, Camp Cap, and Crusher. Each piece revives the essence of GOODENOUGH, drawing from the textures and references that defined the original brand while pairing it with Supreme’s skate-focused cuts and attitude.

One standout arrives in the form of a Nike Air Force 1 Low, made exclusively for Supreme. The shoe uses full-grain leather across the upper and features a perforated toe panel, ponyhair Swoosh, and translucent outsole printed with collaborative logos. Inside, the DURAPLUSH lining and co-branded footbed round out the details, while embroidered and debossed logos add dimension to the exterior. The sneaker will be available in one colorway only.

The Supreme x GOODENOUGH collection releases June 5 online and in stores, with the Asia release set for June 7.
