Moncler has teamed up with Tobe Nwigwe to introduce a new version of the Trailgrip sneaker, reimagined through the lens of the artist’s style and musical identity. Known for his genre-bending sound, bold aesthetic, and visual creativity, Nwigwe adds a personal stamp to the Trailgrip line with the release of the Trailgrip Momint, named after his Grammy-nominated album MoMINTs and featuring his signature pastel green hue.
SNEAKERS
The sneaker takes cues from Nwigwe’s distinctive taste and design language, extending the Trailgrip family into new territory. Built for movement and designed to transition from rugged paths to city streets, the Trailgrip Momint balances expressive styling with high-performance construction. The palette alone makes an instant impression, soft green tones carry through the upper, giving the shoe a fresh and easily recognizable identity.

Nwigwe’s design integrates layers of suede, nubuck, and textured suede to create a rich tactile surface. Each pair carries a stitched “Chukwu” signature, referencing the artist’s full name, Tobechukwu, and marking the sneaker with a personal emblem. While the visual direction stems from Nwigwe, Moncler ensured the sneaker meets the same technical standards as the rest of the Trailgrip collection. The model includes a Gore-Tex upper for weather resistance, a carbon fiber footplate for structure, Ortholite foam insoles for comfort, and Vibram Megagrip outsoles for traction on uneven ground.

The campaign brings the Nwigwe family into focus, shifting attention toward themes of togetherness and outdoor exploration. Tobe appears alongside his wife, Fat, and their children, Chikodili, Chukwueze, Ivory, Jachike, and Sage, in natural surroundings. Their presence in the campaign adds emotional resonance to the design and offers a fuller view of the creative’s world. The choice to spotlight his family reinforces the artist’s broader vision, tying the sneaker to both personal narrative and shared experience.

Nwigwe’s relationship with Moncler began in 2022, when he participated in the brand’s 70th anniversary campaign. In 2023, he returned as the creative mind behind the Moncler x Pharrell Williams launch event in Milan, where he delivered a standout live performance. With the Trailgrip Momint, he takes on a new role as a design collaborator, shaping a product that connects his artistry to functional fashion.
The Trailgrip Momint launched on May 31, 2025, as a limited-edition sneaker and is available now exclusively on Moncler’s website.
