Nike has officially announced French swimmer Leon Marchand as the newest athlete joining its global roster. At just 23 years old, Marchand is already recognized as one of swimming’s standout performers, holding four Olympic gold medals and five world championships. His partnership with Nike connects him with a network of innovative athletic support, designed to empower elite competitors.
Léon expressed his enthusiasm about this collaboration, noting, “I’ve always admired Nike: the energy, the culture, the values. Joining this team is a dream and a new beginning.”

Marchand’s athletic career is marked by an impressive record of international victories. At the 2024 Olympics, he secured gold medals in the 200-meter breaststroke, butterfly, medley, and 400-meter medley events. Additionally, his domination at the 2022 and 2023 World Championships included titles in both the 200-meter and 400-meter medleys, along with a win in the 200-meter butterfly in 2023. Marchand extended his dominance at the 2024 Swimming World Cup, where he claimed nine wins across different events.
Beyond competition, Marchand is notable for his multidisciplinary interests. His passion for music production and his creative approach to performance embody the innovative, versatile athlete Nike seeks to promote.
This partnership coincides with an influential moment for French sports, as Léon joins renowned athletes Kylian Mbappé and Victor Wembanyama on Nike’s distinguished roster.

“It means a lot to have Léon joining me in the Nike family,” says Wembanyama. “Athlete life brings us together, and Léon is the best in swimming – it’s as simple as that. I couldn’t be happier about the fact that he’s joining the Nike team.”
Mbappé added perspective on the impact of this moment for future generations: “I want the next generation of athletes who follow Léon, Victor and I to know that if we are successful, they can be as well. I think we all start from the same point: a dream. I had a dream of becoming a great professional football player, as is probably the case for millions of children. I have tried my best to make it come true, and that’s what I hope for all the kids who are watching us.”
Together, the three athletes represent a forward-facing model of excellence, each distinct in their sport, yet aligned in how they define leadership, influence, and ambition.

Marchand sees this relationship as crucial for expanding swimming’s global presence: “It’s awesome for me, as a swimmer, to work with Nike to grow my sport with athletes and fans around the world. That’s a really exciting challenge for me, and I know that my partnership with Nike will help me make an impact in swimming for years to come.”
