Jordan Brand introduces the Air Jordan 1 Low OG “Somos Historias” as part of its 2026 Día de Muertos collection. The limited-edition release draws inspiration from Mexican traditions through its materials, colors, and holiday-specific details. Following the appearance of official images on SNKRS Mexico, the sneaker arrives with a distinctive combination of textured leather, suede, and woven elements. Jordan Brand also introduces individually numbered pairs and custom packaging for the release.

The Air Jordan 1 Low OG “Somos Historias” builds its design around earthy brown tones, using different materials to create variation across the upper. Textured leather overlays establish the main structure, while shaggy suede covers the heel and eyestays. The materials introduce contrasting surfaces within a consistent color palette, giving the familiar low-top silhouette a distinct appearance.

Jordan Brand pays particular attention to the side panels, introducing several details that distinguish this edition from the standard Air Jordan 1 Low OG. A woven Swoosh takes the place of the traditional leather version, adding another textile element to the design. A miniature Swoosh appears near the toe box, while debossed details continue across the sides.
Teal accents introduce another color to the composition. The contrasting trim follows sections of the upper and continues onto the midsole, creating a visible connection between the shoe’s different components. Against the brown leather and suede, the brighter detailing gives the low-top a distinctive finish while maintaining the material-focused direction of the design.

The woven Swoosh plays an important role in the sneaker’s appearance, introducing texture to one of the Air Jordan 1’s most recognizable features. Alongside the shaggy suede panels and debossed markings, it contributes to the layered surface treatment that defines the “Somos Historias” edition. Jordan Brand uses these details to give the familiar silhouette a specific identity within its Día de Muertos collection.
The release also introduces a collectible element through its limited production. Jordan Brand will issue 5,036 pairs, with an interior tongue tag identifying the individual number of every sneaker. This numbered detail establishes the scale of the release and distinguishes each pair within the collection.

Custom packaging continues the Día de Muertos theme. The sneakers arrive in a box featuring a weathered concrete print, graphics referencing the Mexican holiday, and an oversized Wings logo. The printed surface creates a distinct presentation for the special edition, extending the visual concept beyond the footwear.
Official campaign photography introduces another cultural reference through the Xoloitzcuintli, a traditional Mexican dog closely associated with Día de Muertos lore. Its appearance alongside the sneaker connects the campaign imagery to the holiday’s traditions and adds context to the “Somos Historias” name.

With its combination of textured materials, woven branding, numbered production, and themed packaging, the Air Jordan 1 Low OG “Somos Historias” brings a specific visual direction to Jordan Brand’s 2026 Día de Muertos collection. The sneaker retains the recognizable Air Jordan 1 Low OG profile while introducing details particular to this release.
