ANTA will release the Hélà Style Roots in Ombre Black and Ombre Blue on August 16. Designed in collaboration with Kyrie Irving, the lifestyle sneaker combines premium construction with symbolic details drawn from his personal and cultural influences.
The shoe’s design centers on four sections of the outsole, each tied to a key element in Irving’s life: honoring his mother and father, representing his basketball career, paying tribute to his indigenous heritage, and symbolizing unity and protection. The tread patterns for each section are distinct, creating both visual separation and functional traction.
The upper uses suede split cow leather, giving the silhouette a soft yet durable feel. Panels are arranged to create subtle tonal variation, with color placement shifting between the heel, midfoot, and toe box. Perforations along the toe area improve breathability, while reinforced stitching secures high-stress points.
One of the most recognizable features is the layered lace setup. Multiple lace sets in different colors and patterns, including solid tones and striped designs, are stacked through reinforced eyelets. This creates a dimensional effect on the midfoot and allows wearers to customize their look by reconfiguring or removing layers.
The midsole sits slightly elevated at the heel for stability, with clean sidewall detailing and the ANTA logo embossed at the rear quarter. A rubber outsole delivers everyday traction, while its segmented design visually ties back to the symbolic framework of the shoe.
The Ombre Black edition applies a mix of charcoal and grey tones for a muted finish, while the Ombre Blue pairs teal and aqua shades for a cooler palette. Both versions maintain the layered lace concept, altering the color mix to complement the upper.
By combining material quality, detailed construction, and symbolic references, the Hélà Style Roots connects Irving’s personal narrative with a lifestyle-ready design. The August 16 release will be available at select U.S. retailers, offering two distinct takes on this signature ANTA silhouette.
