Nike and Maha Amsterdam brought back the Total 90 Shox Magia, reintroducing the hybrid silhouette from 2003 with two new finishes. The collaboration delivered a precise update without losing the shoe’s original identity. It combined the upper of the Total 90 football boot with Nike’s Shox heel cushioning, creating a sneaker rooted in early 2000s experimentation and reworked through a modern lens.

The drop featured two versions: Metallic Silver and Metallic Black. The Silver pair leaned into the shoe’s futuristic concept. Its upper came coated in high-shine silver with black underlays and tonal black laces. Maha Amsterdam’s logo appeared on the tongue, set against a reflective metallic surface. A large black Swoosh ran along the outer side, while a smaller one near the heel completed the branding. Mesh panels broke up the upper near the midfoot, improving breathability. The sole featured Nike’s signature Shox pillars with a PVD-coated, iridescent midsole that reflected shades of violet and blue. Grid patterns wrapped the sides for added texture.

The Black version focused on contrast. Its synthetic upper kept a monochrome tone, broken up by a large white Swoosh on the lateral side and a smaller Swoosh on the medial. The chrome silver midsole extended into the outsole, giving the design a layered structure without disrupting its silhouette. The Shox system remained visible but didn’t overpower the form. Textural overlays and careful stitching gave this edition a more structured, polished finish.

Both pairs maintained the foundation of the original Shox Magia. Nike first introduced the model in 2003 to explore the line between performance and off-pitch style. This revival kept the core features intact while adding new materials and sharper surface details. Reflective treatments, synthetic finishes, and mesh ventilation gave the sneaker a current feel without departing from its original shape.

Maha Amsterdam released the collaboration through its website on July 5. Nike SNKRS followed with a wider global launch on July 12. Each pair retailed for $180 USD. The return of the Shox Magia fits into Nike’s broader strategy of revisiting its archive with help from contemporary retail partners.
