Nike expands its Greater Than series with the G.T. Cut 4, a basketball shoe engineered for players who rely on touch, speed, and split-second footwork. The model enters the lineup with a focus on responsive court feel and arrives in January 2026 through nike.com and select retailers.
Nike Basketball created the silhouette through research with athletes who shape the current pace of the game. The shoe builds on the previous G.T. Cut releases by combining cushioning systems, traction updates, and a redesigned low-profile fit. Ross Klein, VP and Creative Director of Nike Basketball, describes the model as an evolution based on athlete feedback and the need for faster transitions on the floor.

The G.T. Cut 4 introduces ZoomX 3.0 cushioning to hardwood footwear for the first time, pairing it with a parabolic Zoom Strobel and RBR-X foam for added stability. A Cushlon carrier supports the full setup, giving guards and wings the ability to stop, change direction, and accelerate without losing control. Nike pairs the cushioning with a newly developed traction pattern designed for sharp cuts and directional shifts.

Fit plays a central role in the design. The shoe features a 3D-molded collar, molded vamp tongue, and an exoskeleton containment upper. This construction creates a close-to-foot feel intended to help players react without hesitation. The low-top height also keeps weight down while maintaining control through lateral movements.

Paige Bueckers debuted the model during WNBA All-Star Weekend, followed by an official unveiling at the China International Import Expo in Shanghai. The shoe launches alongside the G.T. Future, a companion model created for players who rely on vertical play. While the G.T. Cut 4 focuses on ground contact and agility, the G.T. Future pairs a forefoot Air Zoom unit with a parabolic Zoom Strobel and Cushlon 3.0 midsole for athletes who dominate through lift.

Both sneakers share a futuristic visual language and reflect Nike Basketball’s long-term focus on designing for the next generation. The brand continues to work directly with athletes on every level, from youth circuits to professionals, to inform each iteration of the Greater Than line. Nike plans to release the G.T. Cut 4 in multiple colorways that match its performance brief with equally energetic visuals.
The G.T. Cut 4 arrives January 2026 and joins a growing roster of sport-specific models designed to match how modern players attack the game.
