In the trailer, Thor delivers a prayer-like address to his father Odin, reflecting on a life shaped by duty, war, and responsibility. He acknowledges that becoming a father has altered his priorities and speaks directly about his daughter Love, describing her as untouched by conflict. Thor asks Odin for strength to face another battle and states his intention to return home to her, framing his motivation through protection, accountability, and continuity.
Avengers: Doomsday is the fifth mainline Avengers film and the next major ensemble project from Marvel Studios following Avengers: Endgame. The film functions as a convergence point for characters introduced across multiple post-Endgame phases, bringing together storylines that have unfolded separately across films and series.
The project marks the return of directors Joe Russo and Anthony Russo, who previously directed Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame. The screenplay is written by Stephen McFeely and Michael Waldron. Marvel Studios and AGBO produce the film.

The film takes place after the events of Thunderbolts and brings together multiple groups, including the Avengers, Wakandans, Fantastic Four, New Avengers, and characters associated with the X-Men. The narrative addresses the fragmented state of global leadership and hero coordination following Endgame, drawing together consequences established in Loki, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, and Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania.
