As part of D’Puglia’s program at The Standard Spa Hotel during Art Basel Miami Week, DSCENE presented two dedicated moments focused on Puglia, Unframed guide and Vento perfume. Held on November 30 and December 1, the events marked the first public presentation of projects that emerged directly from the DSCENE x D’Puglia international artist residency in Southern Italy earlier this year.
EVENTS
The residency, titled Go Where The Wind Takes You, took place throughout May in Castro, along Puglia’s Adriatic coast. Over the course of a month, DSCENE and D’Puglia hosted a group of international artists invited to work without a fixed itinerary, responding to the region through observation, movement, and lived exchange. Puglia, Unframed and Vento were conceived during this period, shaped by time spent across cities, villages, olive groves, and coastlines rather than by a predefined narrative.

The first Miami evening, the D’Puglia Kick-Off Garden Party, introduced Puglia, Unframed as an artist-led publication rooted in that residency experience. Developed by DSCENE in collaboration with D’Puglia, the guide brings together contributions from Antonio Aricò, Coco Brun, Federica Livia, Lougè, Vuk Ćuk, Alec Von Bargen, Luca Bray, and Renzo Buttazzo, alongside Dame Helen Mirren’s involvement through Save The Olives. The book avoids the format of a traditional guide, instead mapping Puglia through personal encounters with land, craft, ecology, and daily life.
Set within The Standard’s garden, the launch echoed the conditions of the residency itself. Works by Lougè and Coco Brun referenced preservation, material sensitivity, and atmosphere, reinforcing the idea of Puglia as something experienced over time rather than consumed as imagery. The guide circulated as a physical object shaped by fieldwork, conversation, and proximity to place.

The following night, D’Puglia, hosted an intimate VIP and press dinner with DSCENE to continue the presentation of Puglia, Unframed and to formally unveil Vento, the residency perfume developed with Osmo, Conceived by Coco Brun, the perfume functions as an olfactory extension of the same process that shaped the guide. Built around the elements of mare, vento, and terra, the fragrance translates weather, movement, and memory into scent, extending the residency’s sensorial register beyond print.
Rather than positioning Vento as a standalone launch, the perfume was presented as a shared outcome of the residency itself, developed in dialogue with the artists, the landscape, and the rhythm of time spent in Puglia. Its introduction reinforced DSCENE’s approach to editorial work that expands into physical form while retaining authorship and context. During the dinner, D’Puglia founder Gordana Zgonjanin announced the launch of Go Where The Wind Takes You as a non-profit initiative, formalizing the platform that grew out of the residency. The organization is designed to support artist-led research, cross-cultural exchange, and environmental awareness.

The gatherings also marked a transition toward the next phase of the project. Upcoming residency partnerships with Flowers Winery in California and Palazzo Tafuri in Puglia were announced, signaling the expansion of Go Where The Wind Takes You into new geographies. Throughout the week, DSCENE’s team was based at Moxy South Beach, a low-key hub that quietly supported the pace and intensity of Art Basel days and late nights, with Maserati joining as DSCENE’s official car for the week. Cocktails by Select, Montenegro Amaro, and UNA Vodka accompanied the launch, grounding the evening in a relaxed rhythm that mirrored the guide’s refusal of spectacle.
Across both evenings, Puglia, Unframed and Vento were presented as results of sustained engagement. The gatherings emphasized continuity, process, and long-term collaboration, positioning the residency as the foundation from which these projects continue to evolve. While Miami moved at full Art Basel pace beyond The Standard, DSCENE’s presence remained focused on work already in motion, a guide shaped by time in the field, a fragrance developed through shared experience, and a platform built to support future residencies and research rooted in place.
