Early reports point to discussions between Kim Kardashian's Skims and designer Ludovic de Saint Sernin.

Kim Kardashian may be exploring a new creative direction for Skims, with market sources indicating that the company has held talks with Ludovic de Saint Sernin regarding a possible collaboration. No agreement has been confirmed, and details of the discussions remain undisclosed, but the reported conversations suggest early interest between the shapewear brand and the Paris-based designer known for body-focused, gender-fluid design, according to WWD.

NEWS

A representative for Ludovic de Saint Sernin declined to comment when contacted, and neither party has confirmed whether the talks have progressed beyond an initial stage. Still, the pairing aligns closely on a conceptual level. Skims has spent recent years extending its reach beyond its original shapewear focus, while de Saint Sernin has built a reputation for designs that explore the body through form-fitting silhouettes and exposed construction. A collaboration would place both names within a shared visual and cultural space.

Born in Brussels, Ludovic de Saint Sernin launched his label in Paris in 2017. Since then, he has established a distinct identity through pieces such as eyelet-studded briefs, slinky halter tops, and low-slung trousers finished with corset-style lacing instead of traditional closures. His work regularly plays with ideas of exposure, control, and vulnerability, offering a view of fashion that resists fixed gender codes. That approach has earned him growing visibility within the industry and among a younger, fashion-aware audience.

De Saint Sernin’s profile rose further through a series of high-visibility projects. In January of last year, he created a one-off couture collection for Jean Paul Gaultier, stepping into a guest designer role that placed his vision within an established Parisian framework. More recently, he completed two collaborations with Zara, including a project tied to the brand’s 50th anniversary during Paris Fashion Week. Last month, Zara released a Ludovic de Saint Sernin collection spanning women’s and men’s ready-to-wear, accessories, and beauty products, further expanding his reach into a global retail context.

Skims, founded in 2019, has followed a different but equally strategic path. Under Kardashian’s direction, the brand has pursued collaborations across fashion, luxury, and sportswear, partnering with names such as Fendi, Roberto Cavalli, Swarovski, Dolce & Gabbana, The North Face, and Nike.

At the same time, Skims has continued to broaden its category range. The company has pushed deeper into apparel while directing increased attention toward beauty, all while expanding its physical retail presence and strengthening its international footprint. That growth recently received financial backing through a $225 million capital raise, which valued the company at $5 billion.

For now, the discussions remain unconfirmed, and no timeline or product details have surfaced. Whether the talks lead to a formal partnership or remain exploratory, their existence signals Skims’ continued interest in aligning with designers who bring a defined point of view. For Ludovic de Saint Sernin, a collaboration with Skims would mark another step in translating his aesthetic into a wider commercial setting.
