Lady Gaga and Jisoo joined a group of global icons to declare their favorite Pokémon characters during a Super Bowl LX commercial. The one-minute advertisement celebrated the 30th anniversary of Pokémon and launched the “What’s Your Favorite?” campaign. Comedian Trevor Noah opened the spot by asking the central question after completing his final stint as host of the Grammy Awards. Noah selected Psyduck as his preferred character, setting the stage for a series of celebrity.

Lady Gaga appeared in the studio to name Jigglypuff as her top choice. The 16-time Grammy winner highlighted the character’s twelve-octave vocal range and humorous personality. Gaga also explained that she values how Jigglypuff uses her voice for self-protection. During the commercial, the singer performed a duet of a lullaby while the balloon Pokémon floated nearby. This appearance followed her surprise performance during the halftime show and her lead role in a separate commercial earlier in the game.
BLACKPINK member Jisoo selected Eevee for the commercial. She noted that the creature resembles her and praised its ability to transform into various forms. Jisoo later told Rolling Stone that Sylveon, one of the eight evolutionary forms of Eevee, remains her true favorite. She explained that she prefers Sylveon because the character appears soft yet possesses great inner strength. Taito Okiura of The Pokémon Company International stated that Jisoo’s genuine affinity for the brand made her a perfect addition to the campaign roster.

Puerto Rican rapper Young Miko selected the mischievous Gengar. She described the character as an improviser who expresses love through trickery. The commercial also featured Monte Carlo-based F1 driver Charles Leclerc, who named Arcanine as his favorite. Spanish soccer player Lamine Yamal chose Zygarde, while actress Maitreyi Ramakrishnan identified Luxray as her top pick.

The celebrity-led campaign celebrates a brand that began 30 years ago as a role-playing game. Pokémon now spans video games, movies, trading cards, and animated series. Following the broadcast, the campaign moved to the Pokémon GO app. Fans can now follow the example of these celebrities by selecting their own favorites from over 1,000 characters. The app provides a dedicated anniversary tab for users to create and share their own snapshots.
