Chloé presents the Devotion Collection for Winter 2026 under the creative direction of Chemena Kamali, a season built on reflection about empathy, community, and the human presence embedded within clothing. Kamali approaches the collection as an exploration of how garments hold emotional weight and carry memory through the gestures of making. The result places attention on craft, irregularity, and the traces left by the hands that shape each piece.

WINTER 2026 COLLECTIONS

Kamali frames the collection through a broader reflection on the pace of contemporary life. She describes the project as a response to a climate that feels increasingly mechanical and accelerated. Her focus shifts toward the slower rhythm of traditional craft and shared cultural practices. Through this perspective, clothing becomes a medium that connects people to one another and to the histories that inform their traditions.

Traditional costume and folkloric craftsmanship serve as the central reference point throughout the collection. Kamali studies the ways garments function within communities, where patterns, embroidery, and decorative techniques carry symbolic meaning. Each motif reflects stories, beliefs, and rituals that pass from one generation to another. In this context, the idea of “folk” expands beyond aesthetic inspiration and becomes a framework that defines shared identity and cultural continuity.

The garments highlight the time invested in their making. Embroidery, knitting, and printed elements reveal visible irregularities that distinguish the pieces from machine-perfect surfaces. These subtle variations form part of the design language. They signal the presence of the maker and the devotion required to construct each garment. Kamali treats these imperfections as a form of authenticity that anchors the collection within human experience.

Motifs and decorative details introduce another layer of symbolism. Many elements function as talismanic gestures that reference protection, spirituality, and collective memory. Through these touches the garments carry an additional emotional dimension, suggesting that clothing can hold personal and communal meaning simultaneously.

Fabric surfaces play a key role in communicating this philosophy. Materials retain texture and depth that emphasise the hand behind their creation. Stitching remains visible. Embroidery follows organic rhythms rather than rigid symmetry. Kamali’s approach celebrates the labour invested in each piece and invites viewers to recognise the gestures of care embedded in every detail.

The Devotion Collection positions fashion as a vehicle for connection rather than distance. Kamali describes the project as an attempt to reintroduce sensitivity and humanity into contemporary design. Through references to folklore and craft, the garments suggest a return to shared values rooted in community and mutual understanding.

This perspective aligns with the broader legacy of Chloé. Founded in 1952 by Gaby Aghion, the Parisian house emerged from a desire to offer women clothing that allowed freedom and self-expression. Aghion pioneered luxury ready-to-wear with an emphasis on individuality and fluid femininity. Kamali continues this lineage by framing fashion as an expression of identity shaped through lived experience.

Through the Devotion Collection, Kamali extends a message about care and shared humanity. The garments function as reminders that fashion holds the capacity to carry memory and meaning through craft. In a moment defined by speed and digital immediacy, the collection argues for attention, patience, and the quiet gestures that bind communities together.
