MM6 Maison Margiela and Salomon return with the XT-4 Mule, reshaping Salomon’s trail-running icon for warmer conditions and everyday wear. The design removes the heel from the XT-4 OG and converts the technical sneaker into a slip-on model while retaining the structural components that define the original.

The XT-4 Mule arrives in two colorways: Vanilla Ice and Black. The lighter version uses a pale base with measured hits of green and blue, giving the layered upper a clear seasonal identity. The darker option keeps the upper, chassis and sole within a near-black range, with subtle shifts in tone revealing the construction.
Salomon’s Agile Chassis System supports the foot and gives the mule stability despite its open construction. An EnergyCell midsole supplies cushioning underfoot, and the Mud Contagrip outsole uses chevron lugs to maintain traction on varied surfaces. These components connect the new model to the XT-4’s trail origins and give the open shape a technical foundation.
The upper combines synthetic panels with textile mesh to support airflow and regular wear. Anti-debris construction helps limit the entry of dust and small particles around the foot. Salomon’s Quicklace system runs through the upper and lets the wearer adjust the fit with one pull.
MM6 and Salomon keep the branding integrated into the construction. MM6’s numeric signature appears alongside Salomon’s logo on the side, placing both identities within the shoe’s panel system. The markings follow the functional lines of the upper and allow the shape, materials and technical components to lead the design.
The XT-4 Mule continues a partnership that first appeared during MM6 Maison Margiela’s Fall Winter 2022 show. Since then, the collaborators have developed footwear and clothing that connect technical equipment with daily dressing. For Spring Summer 2026, they extend that approach through a modular selection of footwear and accessories that support movement and repeated use.
