Nike brings back the KD 6 Meteorology as a one to one recreation of the 2013 release. The new pair retains the original Black, Medium Olive, Noble Red and Atomic Red palette, along with the weather radar graphics that gave the colorway its identity. Nike connects the design to Kevin Durant‘s childhood ambition to become a television meteorologist, turning an early career dream into one of the most recognizable themes from his signature line.

The 2026 edition keeps the visual details that defined the first pair. Black and Medium Olive cover the low cut upper, while Atomic Red adds brighter sections around the shoe. Radar inspired graphics run through the design and recall the color patterns used on weather maps during severe conditions. A speckled midsole extends the forecast theme below the upper.

Nike first launched the KD 6 Meteorology on August 3, 2013. The colorway followed the KD IV Weatherman, which introduced Durant’s interest in forecasting to his sneaker line. The KD 6 version used a darker treatment and linked the theme to a silhouette that marked a major change from the taller KD V. Designer Leo Chang gave the sixth model a low cut form and drew inspiration from the construction and visual detail of a wristwatch.

The KD 6 used an ultra thin two layer upper to keep the shoe light and close to the foot. Hyperfuse construction combined structure and ventilation, while Flywire cables tightened through the laces to secure the foot. Nike Zoom cushioning in the forefoot supplied response during acceleration and takeoffs. A visible Max Air unit in the heel absorbed impact during landings. Nike also shaped the outsole with pressure data collected from Durant’s foot, giving the traction pattern a direct link to his playing style.

The Meteorology reissue arrives during the KD19 era. Nike introduced Durant’s nineteenth signature shoe in 2026 with full length Zoom Strobel cushioning, Cushlon 3.0 foam, a molded sockliner and a midfoot shank. A dual injection TPU structure secures the heel and midfoot, and its dagger shape references Durant’s Slim Reaper nickname.
The Nike KD 6 Meteorology launches through SNKRS on August 8 for $135.
