Xbox and IKEA have begun teasing a new collaborative collection focused on gaming furniture and household accessories. The project brings together Xbox’s recognizable hardware design with IKEA’s approach to home furnishings, introducing pieces that translate familiar gaming forms into objects for domestic spaces.
FURNITURE
Both brands have shared early previews through social media, offering a first look at several designs without revealing the complete range. The teasers focus on details associated with the Xbox controller, turning elements usually held in the hand into much larger objects intended for the home.
One of the first pieces shown is a bright green cushion shaped like the D-pad found on an Xbox controller. Its exaggerated scale takes a small functional component from gaming hardware and gives it a new purpose within an interior. The strong green color also connects the object directly to the visual identity associated with Xbox.
Another teaser introduces a larger object modeled after an oversized analogue stick. The piece features a glossy outer ring and appears designed to function as either a stool or a small table. By increasing the scale of the controller component, the collaboration turns another familiar gaming detail into a piece of furniture while keeping its original shape immediately recognizable.
The previews establish a clear connection between gaming equipment and home design. Xbox provides the visual references, while IKEA brings those forms into the context of furniture and accessories. The collaboration centers on objects that take cues directly from gaming hardware.

So far, the two brands have kept most of the collection under wraps. The D-pad cushion and analogue stick-inspired piece provide the clearest indication of the direction, while the remaining products have yet to receive a full introduction.
The collection is expected to make its full debut at the Xbox booth during Gamescom. Xbox has scheduled broadcasts from the event on August 26 and 27, when further details about the collaboration are expected to emerge.
