Dover Street Market Ginza, the renowned eclectic fashion concept store collaborated with GUCCI on a new installation: Gucci shop-within-shop at Dover Street Market in Ginza, Tokyo, which opened last July.
On this occasion, Gucci is taking over the Dover Street Market Ginza Elephant Room to showcase the Gucci Garden. The concept, developed by Creative Director Alessandro Michele, is an imaginary universe of flora and fauna that have come to populate his collections. In celebration of the Spring Summer 2016 women’s collection, the Elephant Room, already home to an iconic creature, becomes the surreal haunt of Michele’s creations. The giant butterflies, bumblebee, ladybird, birds and snake that decorate the space are the motifs that adorn the collections. The Elephant Room at Dover Street Market Ginza is a permanent installation at the store and designers are regularly invited to decorate it. Dover Street Market will unveil the Gucci Garden take on the room on March 4th. This will be the second time the House has participated in designing the Elephant Room. The first was last October, when Alessandro Michele covered the room’s renowned elephant sculpture and its walls and floors in the GG Blooms pink floral print. – from Gucci
