Experts say yoga is good for health. But how do you start yoga when you have never been on the mat and have the flexibility of an 80-year-old? Here are some useful tips.
Find the appropriate yoga outfit
Believe that the last thing you want in a yoga class is to worry about whether or not your tights fall. Choose yoga clothing to let you move. Don’t wear jeans. I know you won’t do it, but I’ve seen it a couple of times. The key point is comfort. Choose soft fabrics that stretch with your body. A quality sports bra is a must if you are women. On the other hand, you should make the right choice for your feet.
Don’t worry about flexibility
What did you say? Can’t you get your legs out of your neck, or can you not open your legs both sides? Okay, that’s perfectly normal. Not being flexible is the first reason to do yoga. Also yoga is not just flexibility. Flexibility is gained over time and that is why you should do yoga and give yourself time. And no one in the class is interested in how you do the movement.
Find the right class
Do you have any information on Vinyasa flow or Hatha yoga? Do not be afraid. Instead, choose classes with beginners. The classes of beginners are completely different from the standard yoga classes. These classes are organized for people who do not have experience in yoga or who have very little experience. You focus more on correct breathing and correct posture, and you can decide which type of yoga type is right for you based on strength, fitness and flexibility.
Keep your eyes on
It may be surprising for you, but yoga is not a form of worship. The chakras and prana behind the breathing exercises are parts of a science-based exercise strategy. Yoga is not a religion. There is no doubt that yoga is a way to raise awareness of life, but don’t worry about finding yourself in a secret sect. Yoga will, of course, allow you to question your thoughts and focus on living moments of Yoga, but this is not to be feared. In fact, you can become a much more successful person in your work and social life.
Don’t be late
Are you always late? Then this tip is for you. Come to the yoga studio before class starts. So if the class starts at 19:00, be in the studio before 18: 50. Lessons usually begin with meditation to increase focus and your arrival can be annoying. In fact, many studios won’t let you in if you’re late. If they let you in, wait for the meditation to end.
Take care of breathing exercises
Do you think the breathing exercises are stupid? Think again. Of course we all know how to breathe, but many people fail to use the full capacity of their lungs. That’s where yoga breathing comes in. Breath rate and breath depth have a great impact on the nervous system. When you do yoga, you are warning the parasympathetic nervous system (this is an affirmative word for the nervous system responsible for sleep, rest, digestion and repair). If you are practicing yoga to relax, you should therefore give priority to your breathing quality.
Hopefully the above tips can help explain how yoga affects someone’s life.
