PUMA and LaMelo Ball expand their basketball partnership with the release of the MB.05 World Tour. The newest entry in Ball’s signature sneaker series arrives in a saturated hot-pink colorway and features molded barbed-wire detailing inspired by the NBA player’s tattoos. This model maintains the high-performance design principles of previous MB sneakers, while introducing new graphics and textures that reflect Ball’s one-of-a-kind persona. Set to launch on August 29, the shoe continues the evolution of the line that began with the original MB.01.
The MB.05 World Tour uses NitroFoam cushioning to deliver responsive comfort and agility on the court. The upper integrates a repeating number “1” pattern to reinforce Ball’s self-declared 1-of-1 identity. The outsole includes a molded skull detail along with a large “1” graphic that ties the design back to Ball’s personal branding. The shoe features intense color, metallic iridescence, and bold graphic overlays that reflect LaMelo Ball’s on-court persona. He worked closely with PUMA on the development of this silhouette, taking part in its visual and technical direction. Additional color options are scheduled to release in fall 2025, continuing the World Tour theme.

LaMelo Ball launched his first signature shoe with PUMA in December 2021. The MB.01 featured bold flame motifs that matched his rocket tattoo, and introduced NitroFoam technology for performance support. The MB.02 arrived in October 2022 and refined the cushioning, adding a feather-inspired traction pattern based on another tattoo. With each new model, the sneaker line expanded into visual themes ranging from outer space to punk graphics, while always retaining performance-first engineering.
The MB.03 introduced layered textures, 3D-printed graphics, and translucent materials with references to alien iconography. Colorways such as “Galaxy,” “Toxic,” and “Digital Camo” pushed the visual limits further. The MB.04 leaned into expressive branding, offering loud prints, glow details, and themed releases like Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and graffiti editions.

Throughout these releases, PUMA has used NitroFoam consistently to enhance energy return and reduce weight. This technology, developed in-house, supports explosive movement without sacrificing comfort. The MB.05 continues that approach while introducing sculpted synthetic overlays that give the upper its barbed-wire effect. The result is a model designed for aggressive play while standing out with unapologetic visuals.
Priced at $125, the MB.05 World Tour will be available through PUMA’s website, the brand’s mobile app, the NYC Flagship store, and select retailers. This release builds on the strong track record of the MB franchise, which remains one of PUMA’s most successful performance lines since its return to basketball in 2018.
