Mattias Gollin presents a new collaboration with Vans that turns the classic Authentic into a handcrafted showpiece. The designer uses the original Black/White model as his base and brings a labor-intensive process to each pair. Gollin works in Italy’s Marche region, where he hand-applies pearls, crystals, and beads with a method that can stretch to eight hours for a single sneaker. The final count often reaches two thousand gems, each chosen to create texture and depth across the shoe’s checkerboard panels.

The Authentiche carries the signature Vans structure but gains its identity through Gollin’s approach to embellishment. White squares on the canvas receive pearl clusters and gold-toned accents, while darker parts of the shoe gain black beadwork that produces a sculptural surface. Gollin places his name on the tongue and uses a branded insole to complete the design. These elements create a clear link to his earlier work, including his pearl-covered Vans Slip-Ons, which signaled his direction toward artisanal reinterpretations of familiar silhouettes.

Gollin arranges the release of Vans Autentiche by Mattias Gollin for December 5, 2025, with an appointment-only system in Miami. Buyers secure a time slot through his website and present valid identification on arrival. Each customer can purchase one pair, a measure that preserves access for collectors and fans. Sizes run from US 3.5 to US 12, and the retail price stands at $750 USD. This figure reflects the extensive manual work required for each pair, along with the limited production tied to a handmade object.

The collaboration aligns with the art-centric activity in Miami during the first week of December. The appointment model underscores the project’s emphasis on craftsmanship and gives visitors a direct view of Gollin’s approach to design. Vans continues to support creative partners through these focused releases, offering space for reinterpretations that depart from standard production models.
