
Akris Winter Cruise 2027 continues the creative dialogue between Colombian textile artist Olga de Amaral and Akris Creative Director Albert Kriemler. The collection develops their shared interest in clothing as a tactile language, with texture and tone guiding Kriemler’s approach to the season.

For Olga de Amaral, color is never separate from material. Its depth and luminosity are inseparable from the way a textile holds and reflects light


For Winter/Cruise 2027, that idea shapes the relationship between fabric and color. Kriemler treats each shade as part of the textile itself, allowing its construction and surface to influence how it appears under light. The approach connects the visual qualities of the collection directly to the physical character of its materials.
The project follows a relationship that developed over several years. Kriemler had followed de Amaral’s practice for close to a decade before their first Akris collaboration. He initially approached the Colombian artist about working together years earlier, and the project later developed after her exhibition at the Fondation Cartier in Paris and his visit to her in Bogotá.


De Amaral has built her practice through textile and materials including wool, linen, horsehair, gesso, and gold leaf. Her work examines fiber through sculptural surfaces and material construction, offering Kriemler a direct connection to ideas that have long informed his own work with fabric at Akris.
Akris and de Amaral began their collaboration with the Fall 2026 collection. Kriemler drew from de Amaral’s practice through jacquards, layered knits, leather, luminous textiles, and specialized fabric treatments. Gold provided another reference through its interaction with reflected light.


The Winter Cruise 2027 takes the exchange into a new season while shifting attention back to the essential relationship between textile and tone. Kriemler uses de Amaral’s approach as a way to examine how material can determine the character of a garment before decorative elements enter the equation.
