Audi gives a first look inside the new Q9, placing the interior at the center of its next large full-size SUV. The model introduces a cabin designed for family use, business travel, and long-distance comfort, with up to seven seats, electric doors, a large panoramic sunroof, and an updated sound system that turns the drive into a fuller sensory experience. Audi plans to reveal the full potential of the Q9 at its global premiere in Summer 2026.

Space defines the Q9 from the first row to the rear seats. Audi offers an optional six-seat layout for customers who want maximum comfort in the second row. In that setup, two individual electric seats take the place of a traditional bench. Each seat includes active ventilation in the center panels of the cushion and backrest, bringing a business-class feeling into the middle row. The front sports seat plus adds ventilation and massage functions, extending the lounge-like character of the cabin to the driver and front passenger.

The seven-seat configuration gives the Q9 a more family-focused setup. Audi allows all three seats in the second row to carry child seats, a practical detail for parents who need flexibility without complicated adjustments. Every seat comes partially power-adjustable as standard. The third-row seatbacks fold down individually through electric controls.
The Q9 also introduces electric operation for all doors, a first for Audi. Drivers and passengers can open or close them with the key, the myAudi app, the MMI, the brake pedal, or the seatbelt buckle. The wide opening angle improves access when carrying shopping bags, luggage, or a stroller. Surround sensors with obstacle detection stop the door when space runs tight, including in narrow parking spots. The system can also detect cyclists or other road users approaching the vehicle.

A standard panoramic sunroof adds another defining feature to the cabin. Measuring around 1.5 square meters, the roof opens wide and uses laminated safety glass with nine individually controllable segments. Passengers can switch one or several sections to opaque at the press of a button, giving glare protection without a conventional blind. The coated glass reflects infrared light and blocks more than 99.5 percent of UV radiation. When parked, the roof automatically turns opaque for privacy, then restores the previous setting once the driver starts the car again. The top trim level adds 84 LEDs with 30 color options.
Contour lighting in the dashboard and doors emphasizes cabin width, while indirect lighting under the Audi MMI panoramic display and in the center console creates a floating effect. The dynamic interaction light runs across the cabin as a continuous LED strip and supports interaction between the occupants and the vehicle.

Audi pairs that lighting system with an updated Bang & Olufsen premium sound system with 4D sound. The system syncs light effects with the rhythm of the music and adjusts the color scheme to the track’s cover art. Headrest speakers support private phone calls, navigation prompts, and surround sound with fewer acoustic distractions for other passengers. Actuators in the front seats add physical vibration, allowing passengers to feel the music through the seat.
The Q9 interior offers wool upholstery with alpaca fiber, Dinamica microfiber, leather and leatherette mixes, and fine Nappa leather. Decorative options include fine grain ash natural in silk beige, lime structure natural, and carbon fiber weave with basalt gray accents. Tamarind brown and stone beige expand the color range. The center console adds two Qi2.2 wireless charging pads and USB-C ports with up to 100 watts, while the trunk gains an aluminum rail system with sliding hooks and adjustable anchors for secure cargo.
