Madonna introduces her next musical chapter with Confessions II – The Film, a 13-minute short directed by David Toro and Solomon Chase of Torso. Dolce & Gabbana dressed the singer and the extended cast in pieces selected from recent and archival collections, continuing a creative relationship that began in the early 1990s.
MUSIC
Released through Madonna’s YouTube channel, the film presents the first six tracks from her upcoming album, Confessions II. The record arrives on July 3 as her fifteenth studio album and follows Confessions on a Dance Floor, released in 2005. That album reached number one in 40 countries and sold around 10 million copies globally.
The project returns Madonna to dance music and develops ideas associated with the earlier album. Dolce & Gabbana supports that direction through corsets, fitted dresses and stage costumes that connect different periods of the singer’s visual history. Madonna wears a rhinestone-covered top from the house’s Fall 1991 archive and a close-fitting dress based on a Spring 1998 silhouette.
Julia Garner, Gwendoline Christie, Kate Moss, Benedict Cumberbatch, Rupert Grint and Sabrina Carpenter appear in the short. Production took place over one month across Los Angeles, New York and London. The film received a tightly controlled premiere at the Tribeca Festival in New York. During the event, Madonna spoke about her desire to create music with meaning. She described dance music as a physical form that connects people through rhythm, movement and shared experience.
The film includes four previously unreleased tracks: “Good for the Soul,” “One Step Away,” “Read My Lips” and “Danceteria.” The final title refers to the New York nightclub associated with Madonna’s rise during the 1980s. The already released singles “I Feel So Free” and “Bring Your Love” also appear in the project.

The narrative moves through apartments, outdoor settings and nightlife spaces. Female robots equipped with cameras pursue Madonna before she enters a forest and joins a group of dancers. She later drives to a nightclub, where the action continues inside a crowded bathroom filled with members of the cast. The group starts a dance party and eventually carries the energy into a domestic setting.
