Apple TV has released the trailer for Last Seen, a new Australian thriller starring Gotham Award winner Patrick Brammall. The series adapts Ryan David Jahn‘s book The Dispatcher, and Apple TV will premiere the first two episodes globally on Wednesday, September 9, 2026. New episodes will follow every Wednesday through October 7.

TV SHOWS

Brammall plays Ian Ridley, a former police detective whose life changed 11 years earlier when his young daughter Maggie disappeared without a trace. Ian now works as a police dispatcher and continues to believe that Maggie may still be alive. His refusal to give up on finding her has shaped the years since her disappearance.

Everything changes when Ian answers a distress call from a teenage girl and becomes convinced that he hears Maggie on the other end of the line. The call gives him a new reason to pursue the case and sends him back into the search that has defined his life for more than a decade. Ian becomes determined to find the girl and reunite his family, regardless of the personal cost.

Patrick Brammall leads the cast following roles in Colin from Accounts, The Devil Wears Prada 2 and Evil. Maxine Peake, whose credits include Say Nothing and Black Mirror, also stars. Brendan Cowell joins the series after Dune: Prophecy and Plum, while Daniel Henshall, known for Mickey 17 and How to Make Gravy, appears alongside Zahra Newman from Thirteen Lives and Addition.

The ensemble also includes Jessica Wren, whose previous credits include Mr Inbetween and Devil’s Playground, Tobias Muhafidin from Bali 2002, and newcomer Chloe Jean Lourdes.

Kris Mrksa adapts Jahn’s novel for television and serves as an executive producer. Jahn previously received the CWA John Creasey Dagger Award. Emmy Award-nominated filmmaker Christian Schwochow directs the series and also serves as an executive producer. The production filmed the entire series in Victoria, Australia, where the story also takes place.

60Forty Films produces Last Seen. Jamie Laurenson and Hakan Kousetta serve as executive producers for the company, whose credits include Hijack, Slow Horses and Down Cemetery Road. Schwochow, Mrksa and Joanna Werner also serve as executive producers, with Werner representing Werner Film Productions.

Schwochow’s previous credits include The Crown, Bad Banks and Munich: The Edge of War. Mrksa previously worked on Requiem, No Escape and The Murders at White House Farm, while Werner’s credits include The Newsreader, Riot and Clickbait.

Last Seen joins Apple TV’s current selection of thriller dramas, which includes Hijack with Idris Elba, Slow Horses with Gary Oldman and Down Cemetery Road with Emma Thompson and Ruth Wilson.

Apple TV will premiere Last Seen globally on September 9 with two episodes, followed by weekly episodes through October 7, 2026.
