Nike and Chevrolet bring Devin Booker‘s classic-car collection into the Book 2 with a new collaboration arriving on September 10, 2026. The first release takes inspiration from Booker’s 1959 Chevrolet Impala convertible, known as Pretty Penny, and translates the car’s color and detailing onto his second signature basketball shoe. The project opens a four-sneaker series based on different vintage Impalas from Booker’s personal collection.
SNEAKERS
The Metallic Red Bronze color treatment comes directly from Pretty Penny, the car that started Booker’s interest in collecting classics. Nike uses the finish throughout the upper, with Sail, Metallic Silver and Black completing the palette. The pair keeps the low profile of the Book 2 while using the collaboration to bring specific automotive references into the design.

A special tongue badge takes its shape from the Impala’s hood ornament, creating one of the clearest links between the sneaker and the car. An embroidered Impala logo appears at the heel, while additional graphics reference Booker’s wider collection of Chevrolet classics. Each sneaker in the four-pair series follows the same idea, matching the paint of one of his Impalas and incorporating details tied to the corresponding vehicle. Chevrolet also places the model year of each car into the design, with the collection drawing from examples built in 1958, 1959, 1962 and 1963.
The partnership continues a theme Booker and Chevrolet introduced with last year’s Book 1 collection, which drew from his classic Chevy Blazers. This time, the focus shifts to the Impalas housed in his garage, which he calls The Library. Pretty Penny leads the series and connects the project to Booker’s Michigan roots and long-running interest in Chevrolet.

Under the automotive treatment, the shoe keeps the Book 2 performance platform. Nike places an Air Zoom unit in the forefoot to support a low-to-the-ground feel, while a Cushlon 3.0 midsole adds cushioning underfoot. A foam sock liner adds another layer of comfort, and the outsole uses a modernized herringbone traction pattern inspired by the Air Force 1. Nike also builds a midfoot webbing system into the shoe to support lateral cuts and quick changes of direction.
The upper combines lightweight mesh with synthetic leather, keeping the structure flexible while giving the Metallic Red Bronze finish enough surface to carry the car-inspired treatment. A lateral outrigger widens the base underfoot, adding stability during side-to-side play. The result keeps the technical foundation of Booker’s second signature model while giving this edition a direct connection to one of the cars most closely associated with him.
