Vacheron Constantin marks the 30th anniversary of its Overseas collection with a new Perpetual Calendar Ultra-Thin limited to 200 pieces. The watch introduces an azure dial with a white gold case, a combination the Maison has never used for the collection before. Inside, the self-winding Caliber 1120 QP/1 measures just 4.05 mm thick, allowing the complete watch to maintain an 8.1 mm case profile.

The Overseas collection dates to 1996 and follows earlier Vacheron Constantin sport-chic watches including the 222 from 1977 and the 1975 Chronomètre Royal. The first Overseas established defining elements such as a notched bezel secured to a flat case. Vacheron Constantin introduced a second generation in 2004 with a sportier design and an integrated bracelet whose links reference the Maltese cross. The collection also gained additional complications and jewelry models during that period.
The current generation arrived in 2016 with new movements developed specifically for Overseas, including chronograph, dual time and world time calibers. Vacheron Constantin retained the recognizable bezel and Maltese cross references while introducing more fluid lines and a tool-free quick-change strap system. Since then, the range has grown to include simple time-only watches, complex complications and skeletonized movements, with titanium and platinum joining steel and 18K gold among its case materials.
The anniversary model introduces a lighter interpretation of the blue dial Vacheron Constantin first developed for Overseas in 2016. The new azure tone uses metallic shades and multiple layers of varnish to create visual depth. Its lighter and less saturated character changes according to the light, while the white gold case provides a restrained contrast. A matching blue moon-phase disc keeps the calendar display visually consistent, and applied hour markers support legibility.
Vacheron Constantin equips the watch with three interchangeable options. The integrated white gold bracelet features a clasp with micro-adjustment, while white and denim-blue textured rubber straps come with interchangeable white gold pin buckles. Owners can switch between all three without tools.
Caliber 1120 QP/1 drives the perpetual calendar and moon-phase display through 276 components. The mechanism automatically tracks months containing 28, 30 or 31 days and accounts for leap years. It requires no calendar correction until 2100, when the Gregorian calendar treats the century year as a non-leap year.
A sapphire crystal caseback reveals the movement and its finishing. Vacheron Constantin applies Côtes de Genève and bevelled edges to the bridges, perlage to the mainplate, and vertical or circular satin finishes to calendar components. A 22K gold oscillating weight carries an engraved compass rose linked to the Overseas collection’s travel theme.
With its new azure dial, white gold construction and ultra-thin perpetual calendar movement, the anniversary edition connects three decades of Overseas design with one of Vacheron Constantin’s most technically demanding complications.
