The famous Wing Chair by Michael Malmborg is the only chair officially approved by NASA and certified by The Space Foundation, made out of the largest single piece of bentwood used to make a chair. Material used for the Wing chair is NASA’s memory foam (the same stuff used in the mattress that you can put a glass of red wine on and jump up and down and not spill it) and therefore its insanely comfortable. Bent ply used to make this furniture piece is from eight to ten times more resource efficient because of the way its harvested and shaped by using pressure and steam to shape the wood, very little needs to be cut.
