CZWG have designed a new mixed use cultural scheme for Grosvenor as part of Southampton’s major cultural quarter development. Southampton City Council have selected Grosvenor as the preferred developer to transform the site of the former Tyrell & Green department store. The proposal offers 75,000 sq ft of high quality auditoria, studios and performance space. In addition the scheme includes restaurants, shops and approximately 20 high-end apartments on the upper floors taking advantage of attractive views across the Guildhall Square and grade 2 listed East Park. The whole development contains approximately 200,000 sq ft split into two buildings either side of a new pedestrian route which connects the square with the park.
