Fall Winter 2019.20 Menswear
“We are always surrounded by abundant resources. Following trends and trying new things is one of the common practices, and each person can even become an influencer to make waves. For those working outside the urban areas in a coexistence with nature, absorbing and embracing new knowledge is not easy to do. While urban residents are making every effort to keep up with the pace of society, most of those outside the cities listen to the voice of nature. This group of people is responsible for the “primary sector” that is familiar but also somewhat foreign to us. Most of the time we only choose the finished products in the supply chain, and when was the last time we stopped to seriously consider the design concepts of the finished products and the meanings behind them?
Overfamiliar images of the primary sector such as agriculture, forestry, fishery and animal husbandry have gradually and almost imperceptibly changed with time. The large nylon bags used to sell rice have evolved into more refined packaging with vacuum technology to reduce product sizes, and in response to changing family structures, the products are now available in more compact sizes for small families or even individuals. Seafood products are no longer sold in plastic bags of red and white but through high-tech packaging with rapid freezing methods for direct delivery from their origins of production, eliminating the distance between consumers and deep-sea fishing boats. Factors such as social structure and technological advancement have brought substantial changes to the primary sector.“
