Yeezy Boost 350 V2 CMPCT ‘Slate Red’ Release Info

First rereleased in 2016, the YEEZY BOOST 350 V2 is still one of the Ye’s most popular silhouettes of all time. Known for its limited edition releases and the highly coveted colorways, the sneaker is a part of the ongoing collaboration between sportswear giant Adidas and American designer, rapper and entrepreneur Ye (formerly known as Kanye West).

The second colorway to release under the all new YZY 350 V2 CMPCT silhouette, the all new Yeezy 350 V2 CMPCT “Slate Red” is dressed in a saturated crimson hue that has become something of a design signature for Ye. Like the recently revealed YZY 350 V2 CMPCT “Slate Blue”, it features a Primeknit upper, that showcases an abstract woven pattern and a lacing system reminiscent of the Yeezy 450. The YZY 350 V2 CMPCT “Slate Red” features an enclosed full-length BOOST midsole, despite not featuring it in the name of the shoe.

History of Yeezy Boost 350 V2

The Yeezy Boost 350 V2 is Ye and Adidas most successful silhouette, known for its impeccable design, in addition to being one of the most comfortable sneakers on the market. It’s originally designed for Adidas back in in September 2016, in a colorway called “Beluga.” First unveiled at the Yeezy Season 3 show, at Madison Square Garden, presented during the New York Fashion Week, the design of the shoe was mainly based on the original 350 model, but with a few upgrades. It featured a translucent midsole, a new primeknit upper and the addition of a SPLY-350 stripe.

The Yeezy Boost 350 V2 CMPCT “Slate Red”

One of the newest iterations of the well-known YEEZY silhouette, the YZY 350 V2 CMPCT now comes in the “Slate Red” colorway. It is a slightly compacted variant of the YEEZY BOOST 350 V2 sneaker, which can be seen at the collar and sock liner. Unlike on the original YEEZY BOOST 350 V2, the collar of the sneaker is elasticated and hugs around the foot, giving a sock-like fit.

The sneaker also features a different style of primeknit technology than on a previous YEEZY BOOST 350 models. It features a vibrant scarlet upper, with sandy brown patterning and striping which stretches from the toebox to the midfoot portion of the sneaker. The ridged rubber sole is finished in a brilliant red made in a BOOST technology, that is synonymous with the YEEZY BOOST 350 silhouette.

Release Date

To coincide with a release of Ye’s upcoming sequel album, titled ‘Donda 2’, executive produced by the well known name in hip-hop and close Ye affiliate, American rapper Future. The counterpart to this sneaker, the YZY 350 V2 CMPCT “Slate Blue” is expected to release later this month at the same price.
