Style Guide: Women’s Air Force 1s

Named after the President of the United States’ personal airplane, The Air Force Line has evolved into much more than a shoe reference throughout the years – it is now a cultural influence. The Air Force 1 was designed by Bruce Kilgore in 1982 and still has royal status 40 years later. The Air Force 1’s simplicity and apparent perfection in its neutral condition was such that even the smallest change: highlights on the heel, a new logo, or an ice sole was enough to give it its own name and a level of bragging rights for anybody who snatched a pair. The fact that they have been a style staple for over four decades speaks volumes.

The cult-favorite sneaker serves as a blank canvas on which to create practically any outfit. They look great with athleisure mainstays like tracksuits and leggings, but they also look great with dressier pieces like midi skirts and puff-sleeve dresses.

So, if you’ve newly joined the legions of Air Force 1 aficionados and are feeling overwhelmed by the multitude of clothing possibilities available to you, keep scrolling. We’ve narrowed it down to the coolest, simplest, and most elegant Air Force 1s money can buy, and they’ll elevate any outfit.

Wmns Air Force 1 ’07 ‘Triple White’

For a long time, the Nike Air Force 1 07 in triple white has been one of the most popular and best-selling shoes. The popularity of this basic white form demonstrates that a classic design in a delicate white version remains unrivaled. The silver lace dubrae is the only thing that stands out against the all-white edition of this sneaker. The upper is constructed of white leather. The top, laces, lining, midsole, and outsole are all comprised of white leather. This is a must-have sneaker for every shoe collection. The Triple White Air Force 1s look fantastic with a simple black T-shirt and black jeans because of the contrast, which helps them stand out and seem fresh, especially if they aren’t scuffed. Throw over a trench in a camel color and the outfit stands.

Serena Williams x Wmns Air Force 1 ‘Summit White’

The legendary Air Force 1 was designed by the Queen of Tennis and the Serena Williams Design Crew (SWDC), and it gives a glimpse into her elegance, progress, and journey to the top. They’re made of quality Summit White pebbled leather, and a one-of-a-kind Gold zip shroud adds a secure layer for game-changing comfort. The tongue of the shoe has Williams’ initials as well as a special statement that says “A collection meant to inspire change and impact the globe.” Instead of a Swoosh overlay, the Serena AF1 has a new styled Swoosh. A gold signature from the champion herself is conspicuously stitched on the heel.  Style these stellar Air Force 1s with khakis, a white tank and trendy accessories like gold chains, XL sunglasses.

Wmns Air Force 1 Pixel ‘Black’

The Nike Air Force 1 Pixel, a new women’s-only release, is a fascinating new version of the Air Force 1 designed by women for women. It has a slightly modified outsole, midsole, and an upper with a swoosh design comparable to the recently released Air Jordan 1 Zoom Comfort. The distorted outsole/midsole has big, pixelated features for a futuristic edge, while the new logo and inverted Swoosh design are uncompromisingly bold. Combine the streetwear staple with other cult classics, such as the iconic Burberry plaid, a tube top and bucket hat that match.

Wmns Air Force 1 Shadow ‘White Pink Oxford’

The new silhouette, named “Shadow” brings layers of overlapping colors, forming “shadows” that provide a fun look throughout the shoe, without losing the essence of the courts. The Shadow’s next arrangement incorporates a palette of subdued pastels for a more lifestyle-friendly style. The Nike Air Force 1 Shadow ‘White Pink Oxford’ comes in a complete leather construction with a White base and subtle pastel accents throughout. Off-white tumbled leather overlays interrupt the white smooth leather upper. In typical Shadow style, the lacestays, toe, and heel have a layered appearance with “Pink Oxford”-tinted parts. This soft color is also used on the Swoosh printed on the lateral side, which is overlapping by a purple “Amethyst Ash” piece. To complete the pink and purple-accented style, an AIR-branded rubber overlay is applied to the heel.

Billie Eilish x Air Force 1 High ’07 SP ‘Mushroom’

This Air Force 1 High has a tonal design, dressed in a Mushroom shade of beige to match Billie’s current album Happier Than Ever’s color palette. The design has five Velcro straps that sit atop the usual laces, as well as an imprinted Blohsh insignia on the laces. It comes in a beige box with Billie Eilish and Nike Air branding, as well as a phrase from Billie’s song “Billie Bossa Nova”: “It’s impossible to stop it once it starts.” This line is also buried behind the insoles of the shoes. The sneaker, like her Jordan 1 AJKO and Jordan 15, is supposedly composed of vegan materials. When paired with Air Force 1s, a slightly cropped pair of pants looks excellent since you can style them with a pair of eye catching socks. Aside from all of the aforementioned, AF1s look amazing with pretty much everything, from a good leather jacket to a denim jacket.
