Fashion brand UMA WANG presented its Fall Winter 2023 Collection, that explores reduction and matters that matter, on March 2nd, during the recently finished Paris Fashion Week. The collection highlights the essence, it avoids the fuss, and shreds the unnecessary. For the season, the Shanghai-based designer focuses on the fabrics, and experiments with materials she had never used before. This was the brand’s first post-pandemic show, their previous physical show was back in September 2019 at the American Cathedral in Paris.

“Time that scribbles, dries, washes, consumes and ultimately molds surfaces and lines. What remains in the outline, and what fills it. Verticality. Roundness. Silhouettes, and how they react to light. Volumes that fold, bend, stand. Opacity and shine. Shaggy, washed, felted wool. Velvet that absorbs color to quietly glisten. A plastified coating.
