KENZO, under the creative direction of Nigo, is joining forces with the renowned artist VERDY. The Spring Summer 2024 runway collection, first unveiled at Men’s Fashion Week in Paris and again in Shanghai, embodies a perfect blend of street culture and high fashion.
From December 2nd to 17th, the Champs-Élysées in Paris will host an exclusive KENZO pop-up store, followed by a showcase at 10 Corso Como in Seoul from December 16th to 26th. This East-West cultural amalgamation reflects the ethos of the House, bridging diverse artistic perspectives.
VERDY, a close ally of Nigo, is celebrated for his vibrant, youthful designs that resonate with themes of rebellion and nostalgia. His work, a melting pot of skateboarding, hip-hop, and manga influences, offers a unique take on Japanese and Western streetwear aesthetics – a fitting complement to Nigo’s vision for KENZO.
This collection sees VERDY’s signature typography splashed across a variety of holiday season garments, including woven, knit, denim, and leather pieces, alongside accessories. The branding, featuring ‘Kenzo’, ‘KENZO Paris’, and other iconic inscriptions, adds a bold flair to each item.
Men’s fashion gets a fresh twist with items like a black windbreaker featuring a white allover logo, navy knitted jumpers, and vests. The collection also includes a varsity black and white cardigan with ‘KP’ and ‘Kenzo Paris’ emblazoned on it, oversized T-shirts with maxi logos, and sweatshirts in contrasting colors and letterings.
The women’s line echoes the same boldness with navy knitted jumpers, cardigans, skirts, and jersey polo dresses, all adorned with the ‘KENZO Paris’ logo. Cropped boxy T-shirts, classic varsity cardigans, and sweatshirts in a palette of black, white, pink, and off-white, all featuring the distinctive macro logo, round out the collection.
In a nod to inclusivity, the collection also features gender-neutral items like hoodies, knitted cardigans, leather motorcycle jackets, and varsity jackets adorned with maxi logos. These pieces, available in various color combinations, cater to a diverse audience, blurring the lines between traditional gender-specific fashion.
The KENZO x VERDY collection will be available for a limited time on KENZO.com from December 1st to 3rd and in KENZO stores globally starting December 4th.
