The Spring/Summer 2024 collection by Peet Dullaert, titled “Couture Unfolds,” is defined by the emotion of floating into the blue, skimming the mist, and rowing through life’s complexities. Dullaert engages with the traditional norms of couture, focusing on the process of creation rather than just the end product. The collection emphasizes the art of “Cousu main,” where each piece is meticulously shaped and sewn by hand, without the use of machines.
Human body is crucial to Dullaert’s vision, with its significant shape and the movement it breathes into garments. Artisanal fabric manipulation techniques are used to craft surfaces that honor nature, while reinterpreting suiting adapted to modern posture and flou-tailoring. The exploration of organic shapes and human anatomy through re-invented techno-pleat designs is evident. Peet Dullaert’s inspiration is drawn from the lives and silhouettes of the diverse individuals around him, with each generation offering unique perspectives and teachings.
In collaboration with TENCEL™, the house continues its pursuit of responsible luxury, showcasing one-of-a-kind creations entirely sewn by hand and shaped to embrace the body. These sustainable fabrics are crafted from a range of crêpe fabrics made of TENCEL™ LUXE filament.
The collection also features a new collaboration with Sicily-based ORANGE FIBER, who, along with Italian weaver Taborelli, developed a fabric woven from TENCEL™ Lyocell filament yarn and TENCEL™ Limited Edition Lyocell yarn. This yarn, spun with fibers made from certified wood and orange peel pulp from Sicily, woven in Como, represents an innovation in conscious luxury.
