The Summer 2024 Haute Couture collection by, titled “Fullness,” presents to us a journey of depth and sensuality, inspired by the dunes of the desert. Rolland creates an atmosphere where each woman is both protected and revealed within a cocoon-like embrace. The collection features a palette of dawn, ochre, and pink tones, reminiscent of the sun-kissed rock.
Key elements of the collection include a terracotta cashmere burnous and an oversized hooded tunic in powdered rosewood gazar. The theme of “Oud Bark” is explored through a long brown silhouette in veiled satin and brushed steel, as well as an asymmetrical scarf draped in sunburnt gazar, with seams braided in leather and embroidered with crystal. Gold becomes a bold ornament, symbolizing a nomad of tomorrow. Accessories include a balaclava of chains, sculptural headdresses, and articulated cuffs in diamond-set gold..
The collection also features long tunics of white gazar and caftans with sand roses in porcelain or gold silicone, bringing contemporary details to traditional attire. Draped muslin gowns and sarouals showcase manipulation of fabric, with gauze and silk houppelandes creating regal, proud silhouettes. The collection premieres new jewelry pieces, including chiselled stones set in white or brown gold.
Gold calligraphy is embroidered on taupe-colored vicuna tunics and gold silicone mosaics tucked into Mikado breastplates. The collection also features a moucharabieh bustier in black leather and a body sheathed in beige satin, with knotted hair draped in turbans adorned with leather, gold, or sculpted metal fringes. Tribal influences are present in an ivory gauze coat embroidered with platinum dreadlocks and a deep black tunic studded with silver chains. As dusk falls, the collection culminates in a deep Tuareg blue giant wrap dress of cut raffia, embroidered with diamonds.
