Sinéad O’Dwyer’s Spring Summer 25 collection, titled “Everything Opens To Touch,” is her debut at Copenhagen Fashion Week, where she showcased as the winner of the Zalando Visionary Award for 2024. Set in Opera Park, O’Dwyer transformed the outdoor location into a sensual and immersive summer dreamscape. The collection, intertwined with the artistic visions of her collaborators, draws heavily on 3D scans of her early cast works, and is accompanied by an evocative soundscape created by Witch Trials and Cosha. The auditory experience also features a poem penned by London-based author Anastasiia Fedorova. This season, the designer worked with the Hair and Care Foundation to deliver an accessible runway show for blind and low vision guests, including immersive audio descriptions and tactile fabric swatches.
O’Dwyer’s commitment to inclusivity went beyond symbolism as she featured Lucy Edwards, a blind model and broadcaster, who walked the runway with her guide dog. This moment, a first for Copenhagen Fashion Week, highlighted the designer’s dedication to creating fashion experiences that are accessible to all. The collaboration with the Hair and Care Foundation ensured that blind and low vision guests could fully immerse themselves in the show, offering a tangible connection to the collection. The Danish Association of the Blind’s involvement further emphasized the importance of making fashion a space where everyone, regardless of ability, can participate and enjoy.
In “Everything Opens To Touch,” O’Dwyer revisits and reimagines her signature pieces. Her iconic shibari-inspired harnesses are rendered with short sleeves, while micro-culottes with slanted rara ruffles introduce a playful element to the collection. The designer also explores new materials, including a deep blue denim.
O’Dwyer’s Spring/Summer 2025 collection has contributions from various brands that help bring her vision to life. Grounds Footwear introduced a new interpretation of their bubble-soled shoes, drawing inspiration from traditional Irish dancing shoes and merging them with O’Dwyer’s unique aesthetic. Savage X Fenty’s lace underwear, subtly visible beneath layers of denim and fine wool, adds a layer of sensuality to the collection, while Ecco’s bags, customized in O’Dwyer’s signature ‘Squiggle’ stretch nylon, offer a functional and stylish accessory to the looks.
