PUMA’s iconic Speedcat silhouette returns to the streets in two new archive-inspired colorways, continuing the brand’s influence on contemporary sneaker culture. The latest iterations of the Speedcat are available in Light Blue/Navy and Haute Coffee/Frosted Ivory, each featuring the signature lush suede finish. The low-top design maintains its sleek, aerodynamic shape, complete with an embroidered cat on the toe and PUMA branding on the tongue and Formstrip. Drawing inspiration from Formula 1 racing tires, the shoes are grounded by a sturdy black rubber sole.

These new Speedcat releases are part of a dynamic campaign created in collaboration with NAKED Copenhagen, celebrating the shoe’s motorsport heritage while emphasizing individuality. The campaign, set in the rugged badlands, positions the Speedcat as an outsider, challenging traditional sneaker norms. With stylist and creative Sierra Rena as the muse, the campaign exudes a strong sense of female empowerment and fearless self-expression, reflecting PUMA’s dedication to pushing boundaries.

The latest colorways follow the successful launch of the black and red Speedcat editions earlier this year, which were inspired by the racewear uniforms of legendary Formula 1 teams. The new color options further expand the Speedcat’s place in the sneaker world, maintaining its close ties to the high-speed world of motorsports while appealing to streetwear enthusiasts with its bold yet refined design.

Originally introduced in 1999, the PUMA Speedcat was designed as a lifestyle version of the fireproof racing footwear worn by Grand Prix drivers in the ‘80s and ‘90s. What started as a functional piece for motorsport professionals quickly became a fashion statement, with its sleek profile and racing-inspired details transcending the track to become a street-style icon.

As one of PUMA’s most innovative and heritage-rich designs, the Speedcat has earned its place in sneaker history, combining performance elements with a stylish, everyday look. This re-release of archive-inspired colorways serves as a nod to the shoe’s deep roots in motorsport culture, while also continuing to influence modern sneaker trends.

The PUMA Speedcat Archive collection will be available starting October 12, 2024, online and at select retailers including NAKED Copenhagen, Kith, Atmos, END, and SNS, among others.
