Puma and Collina Strada continue their creative partnership with a new take on the Mostro, a sneaker originally introduced over two decades ago. The latest collaboration brings the silhouette into a new era, incorporating Collina Strada’s playful design language while staying true to the shoe’s performance-driven roots. The collection debuts in three colorways: a gingham-patterned version, a soft pink quartz, and a monochrome white edition.
The Mostro first appeared in 1999, blending elements from track spikes and surf shoes into an unconventional design. With its low-profile shape and aggressive rubber spike sole, the shoe quickly became a fan favorite. In this latest iteration, Collina Strada puts its signature spin on the silhouette, incorporating an oversized flower-inspired tongue flap and a mix of materials that emphasize texture and dimension.

Collina Strada’s reinterpretation of the Mostro arrives in three distinct colorways, each offering a different perspective on the shoe’s design potential.
- Plaid Print Edition: The most eye-catching of the trio, this version features a gingham-like pattern with a pixelated effect that mimics digital distortion. The design plays with the contrast between organic patterns and technology-driven aesthetics, creating a sneaker that feels dynamic and layered.
- Pink Quartz: A softer approach, this version incorporates pastel tones and floral accents, staying true to Collina Strada’s recurring botanical motifs. The delicate hues contrast with the sneaker’s aggressive spiked sole, balancing playfulness with structure.
- Warm White: The most subdued of the collection, this iteration focuses on texture rather than color. By keeping the palette neutral, the details of the shoe’s construction, from the layered materials to the oversized tongue flap, become more pronounced.
Each sneaker includes two sets of interchangeable tongue flaps, allowing for subtle customization. The oversized tongue, a signature element of this collaboration, features a floral-inspired shape that adds an organic touch to the otherwise structured design.

Sustainability plays a central role in the design process, with the sneakers crafted from a combination of recycled and vegan-certified materials. The uppers blend textile and synthetic elements, reducing reliance on traditional leather while maintaining durability. The spiked rubber outsole, which defines the Mostro silhouette, remains a key feature, providing both grip and visual impact. Collina Strada’s approach to fashion often prioritizes repurposed materials and creative reinterpretations of existing styles.

In recent years, Puma has been reviving the Mostro, collaborating with various designers to bring fresh perspectives to the silhouette. A$AP Rocky’s version introduced a futuristic 3D-printed iteration, while Louis-Gabriel Nouchi transformed the shoe into a backless slip-on mule. London-based label Aries also reworked the Mostro last fall. Collina Strada’s take emphasizes nature-inspired aesthetics, a stark contrast to the tech-heavy interpretations seen in other recent releases.
The Puma x Collina Strada Mostro sneaker is available now through Puma’s website, Collina Strada’s online store, and select flagship locations. Retailing for $160, the sneakers offer a fresh perspective on one of Puma’s most recognizable designs.
