Nike prepares to release a new edition of the Air Force 1 Low under an unofficial but instantly recognizable theme. Dubbed by sneaker fans as the Black Cat, the shoe features a completely black suede construction and is scheduled to arrive in Summer 2025.
The Air Force 1 Black Cat trades traditional leather for an all-suede upper, giving the silhouette a textured finish across the panels, tongue, and heel. The materials include fuzzy suede overlays and a slightly padded tongue wrapped in the same deep black tone. Laces are slim and refined, replacing the standard AF1 flat laces to maintain the streamlined effect.

One of the more notable details is the double-stacked Swoosh, adding depth and movement to the shoe’s otherwise monochromatic appearance. Even the sole unit carries the blackout theme, with a solid black rubber midsole and outsole grounding the sneaker in uniform darkness.
Although Nike has not officially attached the “Black Cat” moniker to this release, the design draws a clear connection to previous models associated with the name. Jordan Brand began leaning into the “Black Cat” narrative again in 2024, and Nike’s own line has reflected this interest, with previous references found on the Air Max 1 and other models.

This new Air Force 1 iteration shares design DNA with those releases, tapping into the current push for blackout sneakers. The aesthetic appeal lies in its uniformity and texture play, rather than overt branding or accents. Its materials and finishes fall in line with the quiet aggression and subtle luxury associated with the “Black Cat” label among collectors.
The Nike Air Force 1 Low Black Cat is set to release during Summer 2025 via Nike.com and select Nike Sportswear retailers. While the official release date has not yet been confirmed, the timing appears strategically aligned with the upcoming Air Jordan 4 “Black Cat” drop later in the year.
