PUMA and Manchester City have introduced the 2025.26 Home kit, featuring a new design with the club’s iconic sash across the front of the shirt – a first in the history of the team’s home jerseys. Traditionally seen on away kits throughout the 1970s, the diagonal stripe has been worn by club legends including Mike Summerbee, Colin Bell, and Francis Lee. Now, for the upcoming season, the sash returns with a modern edge, bringing a familiar graphic into the spotlight for a new generation of fans.
The new jersey maintains Manchester City’s classic sky blue color but introduces a sharp white sash across the chest, along with subtle textural updates and refined detailing. According to Marco Mueller, PUMA’s Senior Director of Product Line Management Teamsport Apparel, the introduction of the sash to the home kit reflects the brand’s intention to challenge norms and build on the club’s visual history with design that feels both rooted and contemporary.

Mike Summerbee, who wore the sash during its original era in the 1970s, participated in the launch video and welcomed its reintroduction: “Kits carry memories,” he said. “The sash is a style that people associate with a particular era of the club. It’s great to see it brought back in a way that respects that legacy while moving it forward.”
The jersey comes in two editions. The Authentic version, worn by players during matches, features ULTRAWEAVE fabric for reduced weight and enhanced flexibility. The Replica version mirrors the design but with a slightly looser fit, intended for everyday use. Both incorporate dryCELL moisture-management technology, designed to keep the body cool and dry under pressure.

The Replica jerseys are produced under the RE:FIBRE program, which recycles pre-existing textiles to create new high-quality fabric. Each shirt contains at least 95% recycled materials, signaling a move toward more circular production methods in professional sportswear.
The Manchester City men’s first team will debut the new Home kit at the upcoming Club World Cup in the United States this summer. Fans can purchase the jersey through PUMA.com, official Manchester City stores, and select global retailers.
