Salomon continues its exploration of trail-born design reimagined for everyday movement with the release of the XT-Whisper Void AMA, a signature shoe developed in collaboration with British singer-songwriter Ama and her creative studio, I Came Home Late. Officially launching July 16th, the shoe blends performance with poetic narrative, offering a new take on Salomon’s retro trail racer, tailored for women but created to be worn by anyone.

What started as an organic brand connection during Ama’s tour has evolved into a creative partnership centered on shared values: self-expression, versatility, and endurance. The result is a shoe that channels both Salomon’s performance legacy and Ama’s distinct artistic presence. This iteration of the XT-Whisper Void arrives in an ethereal palette of pearl white, coral orange, and seaweed green, each hue drawing inspiration from the Ama divers of Japan, centuries-old female free divers whose courage and elegance inspired the design’s core narrative.

Engineered with Salomon’s signature SensiFit™, Quicklace™, and Agile Chassis™ systems, the shoe delivers a confident, secure fit across terrain. The XT-Whisper Void AMA adapts to the elements, just as easily suited for the city as it is for the wild, the alley as much as the mountaintop. Sleek lines, layered textures, and a streamlined silhouette make it visually distinctive without sacrificing function.

“The number one reason to wear Salomon is functionality,” Ama explains. “They’re subdued in branding, comfortable, and they go with everything. Whether I’m on a trail or at dinner, they just work.”
The XT-Whisper Void AMA is a reflection of hybrid living: part performance gear, part cultural artifact. It’s designed for movement in every sense, whether physical, emotional, or artistic. Available globally on July 16th at select retailers and salomon.com for $170.
