
As part of its 20th anniversary projects, END. teams up once again with longtime partner Salomon to release the XT-Whisper Void ‘Avocado’ sneaker. This latest release, tied to the retailer’s ‘Corner Shop’ concept, takes inspiration from a familiar feature of British daily life: the traditional greengrocer. Specifically, it centers on one item often spotted in stacked displays and breakfast menus, the avocado.

The END. x Salomon XT-Whisper Void ‘Avocado’ sneaker draws directly from the fruit’s form and color. END. and Salomon dress the shoe in layers of green, pulling from the natural tones found in a halved avocado. The upper features iridescent Agave Green panels paired with Lime Cream accents, replicating the shift from dark outer skin to soft interior. These layered hues wrap around the sneaker, creating a gradient effect that nods to the fruit’s visual texture without losing the performance-built focus of the XT-Whisper Void silhouette.


Salomon builds on its trail-running roots by keeping the design grounded in functionality. The sneaker uses 3D mesh through the upper for breathability and lightness. TPU overlays add durability while tracing fluid lines across the body of the shoe. These lines introduce structure without relying on extra bulk. The Quicklace system ensures fast, secure fastening, a staple in Salomon’s technical models.

The collaboration leans into END.’s approach of combining theme with utility. Details like the END. and Salomon logos on the tongue and heel mark the project clearly, while the outsole delivers grip through chevron lugs and Salomon’s Contagrip mud technology, which handles uneven terrain with stability. These features help the sneaker perform beyond casual settings, keeping it consistent with Salomon’s outdoor performance standards.

Inside the shoe, END. shifts the tone slightly with a pink OrthoLite diecut sockliner, a visual twist that references a classic avocado pairing: smoked salmon. This contrast adds a playful nod to brunch culture without overpowering the main inspiration. The insole design features printed avocado imagery, tying the theme together through graphic detail rather than decoration.


END. positions the XT-Whisper Void ‘Avocado’ as more than a visual pun. It builds on the brand’s ‘Corner Shop’ narrative, which explores everyday icons of British life through limited-edition releases. Where previous drops centered on elements like the newsagent or bakery, this sneaker focuses on the greengrocer and the cultural place of fresh produce in urban life. The avocado, in this case, becomes both material and metaphor, rich in texture, visual contrast, and connotation.

END. will launch the XT-Whisper Void ‘Avocado’ sneaker on 15 August 2025 through END. Launches and in flagship stores in Newcastle, Glasgow, and Manchester. An early release and themed installation will take place in London on the same day. The sneaker will retail for £145.00.
