Tommy Hilfiger has released the Tommy x U.S. SailGP Team capsule, a collection shaped by high-performance sport and contemporary style. Drawing from the competitive energy of SailGP Team, the line adapts the precision of racing gear for urban wear, creating designs equally at home on the water and in the city.
SailGP’s fast-paced races, powered by 12 F50 catamarans reaching speeds of up to 100 km/h in global destinations such as Sydney, Saint-Tropez, and New York, inspired the concept. The collaboration builds on Tommy Hilfiger’s ongoing role as Official Lifestyle Apparel Partner of the U.S. SailGP Team, a multi-year agreement announced in 2024. This partnership aims to strengthen sailing’s position in popular culture while expanding the sport’s influence beyond its competitive circuits.

Tommy Hilfiger has worked with sports across disciplines for more than four decades, from competitive sailing to golf, tennis, soccer, and skiing. The collaboration with the U.S. SailGP Team marks a significant step in its connection to the sport, with team CEO and co-owner Mike Buckley calling the brand a natural fit. The partnership sees the crew wearing Tommy Hilfiger designs at every 2025 Rolex SailGP Championship event.

The capsule draws from the brand’s archives while incorporating technical performance features. The color-blocked flag jacket, made with three-layer construction and a water-resistant finish, stands out as a key piece. The pique performance polo introduces moisture-wicking fabric and UV protection, while a ripstop sailing jacket offers wind resistance with a breathable mesh lining. Off-duty options include heavyweight knit hoodies, graphic tees, and color-blocked sweaters that carry a race-inspired aesthetic into casual settings.
Tommy Hilfiger’s connection to sailing began in 1985, when maritime signal flags inspired the creation of the brand’s logo, featuring founder Thomas Jacob Hilfiger’s initials. In the early 1990s, the brand launched its first Sailing Gear collection, reinforcing its interest in nautical design. Over the years, Tommy Hilfiger sponsored solo sailor Brad Van Liew in a global race and achieved back-to-back victories at the Volvo Extreme 40 Grand Prix with the Hilfiger Sailing Team in 2005 and 2006.

The Tommy x U.S. SailGP Team capsule is available now online, in Tommy Hilfiger stores worldwide, and through select wholesale partners. With designs rooted in performance and a legacy of nautical influence, the collection connects competitive sailing’s technical demands with clothing built for everyday wear.
