Copenhagen-based fashion house GANNI partners with New Balance to introduce their latest collaboration, the 1906L sneaker loafer. The silhouette combines the functionality of a running shoe with the structure of a loafer, creating a hybrid design that reflects the current footwear trend. The campaign introduces rising music artist Samara Cyn as its face, tying the release to themes of duality and individuality.

Her presence underscores the expressive direction of the collaboration, brought to life through layered styling and contrasting looks. The imagery builds on the idea that “no one is ever just one thing,” positioning the 1906L as more than footwear, but also as a medium for self-expression.

The silhouette stands out with a chunky rubber sole that anchors it in athletic roots, while GANNI’s signature snakeskin print defines the upper. The loafer strap becomes a central detail, featuring a metal butterfly logo for GANNI and a metal New Balance logo in place of the penny slot. Patent black and silver accents stretch across the midsole and toebox, adding contrast and depth to the snakeskin surface.
This project expands on earlier collaborations between the two brands, including bright yellow sneakers and several versions of the T500. The partnership advances into new territory, combining GANNI’s expressive design language with the technical foundation of New Balance. The 1906L serves as a point of connection for both houses, showing their ability to reinterpret references while continuing to push familiar styles forward.

With its hybrid form and expressive detailing, the GANNI x New Balance 1906L carries the athletic foundation of New Balance while channeling GANNI’s codes into something disruptive and charged with energy. The limited-edition sneaker loafer is available now through GANNI online and in-store, with a wider release on September 30 at New Balance, priced at $190 USD.
