Nike will release the Dunk Low Black Pink Rise in September 2025, presenting a version that combines black leather, translucent Pink Rise panels, a gem-encrusted lace dubrae, and icy outsoles. The shoe maintains the Dunk Low’s recognizable form while introducing a mix of textures that give this edition a distinct identity.
Black tumbled leather frames the upper, covering the heel, toe, swoosh, and eyestays. Panels on the toe box and midfoot use translucent material treated with a Pink Rise tint, creating depth that shifts in appearance under different light. Pink details appear on the tongue label, insole, and heel tab, reinforcing the overlay color. The outsole extends the theme with a frosted finish, while the lace area features a gem-detailed dubrae engraved with the Nike wordmark.

The sneaker retains the Dunk’s core performance features. A padded collar supports the ankle, and a lightweight midsole provides comfort suitable for daily wear. These elements reflect the model’s original purpose as a basketball shoe while allowing modern versions to function as lifestyle staples.
The Dunk first launched in 1985 through Nike’s College Colors Program, offering basketball teams footwear that matched their uniforms. The design’s bold blocking and straightforward build gave it visibility beyond the court, eventually leading to adoption in skateboarding during the 1990s. In the early 2000s, Nike SB transformed the Dunk through collaborations with brands and artists such as Supreme, Zoo York, and Futura. Limited releases like the Supreme Dunk Low with elephant print overlays and the Dunk High designed by Futura sold out immediately. During the 2020s, the Dunk regained mainstream relevance, supported by frequent general releases and new partnerships.

The year 2025 marks the Dunk’s 40th anniversary, and Nike has filled the schedule with diverse editions. September began with the Harris Tweed Dunk Low pack, which introduced wool fabrications in women’s sizing. The Supreme SB Dunk Low “’94” collection followed, offering five regional and global versions. Soon after, Nike delivered the Limosine Skateboards SB Dunk Low “Football.” The Dunk Low “Black and Pink Rise” is next on the release timeline, followed later in the year by the “Abominable Snowman” edition for kids, set for the holiday season.

Some pairs connect to fabric traditions, others to subcultural references, and the “Black and Pink Rise” does so through materials that alter the visual language of the shoe. By integrating translucent overlays into the toe box and midfoot, Nike expands the range of design tools used on the Dunk Low while keeping its essential structure intact. The laces carry a gem-encrusted Nike dubrae that brings another layer of detail to the design.
Nike will release the Dunk Low “Black and Pink Rise” on September 11, 2025, through SNKRS and select Nike retailers. The retail price is $135 USD, and the pair will be offered in extended women’s sizing.
