PUMA joins French independent designer Louis Gabriel Nouchi for the introduction of the Mostro Sock, a new interpretation of the original 1999 hybrid model. The design keeps the essence of the Mostro while shifting toward a sleeker, contemporary construction. Nouchi trades the strap closure of the original for an ankle-high sock profile, giving the shoe a streamlined shape. Despite the change, the sneaker continues to carry its recognizable identity, anchored by the spiked rubber sole that defined the first Mostro release.

The outsole plays a central role in maintaining that identity. Its aggressive tread pattern recalls the performance-driven spirit of the 1999 model, while the new visual texture adds an updated layer to the design. PUMA and Nouchi present the sneaker in two colorways: black and khaki, both of which emphasize versatility and function. Each pair features a breathable textile upper that supports comfort throughout wear, and a rear pull tab designed for quick entry and removal.

Performance references shape the Mostro Sock beyond its sole. The shoe takes influence from textiles and structures found in running and football footwear, borrowing functional elements from both categories to refine its form. These references ensure that the model stays connected to sport, while the sock-like upper introduces a distinct design code that separates this version from its predecessor.

Accessibility marks one of the most significant advances in the Mostro Sock. The laceless slip-on profile creates an easy entry point that supports para-athletes, widening the audience for the design. By removing the strap and traditional lacing system, the sneaker achieves simplicity without losing the attitude of the original Mostro. The ease of wear aligns with contemporary expectations, while also serving athletes who benefit from adaptable footwear solutions.

The PUMA x LGN Mostro Sock arrives on September 27, 2025. The sneaker launches on Louis Gabriel Nouchi’s website and through selected PUMA stockists, ensuring reach and visibility for its debut. With its hybrid of sport reference, modern shape, and inclusive design, the Mostro Sock defines the next chapter for one of PUMA’s most recognizable silhouettes.
