The final trailer for Wicked: For Good has arrived, offering an expansive look at the conclusion to Jon M. Chu’s two-part adaptation of the legendary stage musical. Opening in theaters on November 21, the film reunites Cynthia Erivo as Elphaba and Ariana Grande as Glinda for the climactic chapter of their untold story.
The trailer begins with Glinda’s rise under the guidance of Madame Morrible, played by Michelle Yeoh. Declared Glinda the Good, she tours Emerald City, dazzles crowds with her wand, and descends in her signature pink bubble. Yet her newfound authority is immediately tested when Elphaba reemerges, flying above the city and writing “Our Wizard lies” in the clouds. Their fractured bond takes center stage as the footage cuts between tense exchanges, including Elphaba confronting her former friend with the charge that she has no real power.
The preview teases musical showstoppers that audiences have long awaited to see on screen. “Thank Goodness,” performed by Glinda and the ensemble, captures the public facade of happiness. “No Good Deed” gives Erivo the chance to deliver Elphaba’s darkest hour, while “For Good” underscores the final farewell between the two witches.
Additional moments include Dorothy’s arrival in Oz, as well as brief sequence that shows Elphaba and Fiyero suspended together during the duet “As Long As You’re Mine.” The trailer also offers a closer look at familiar figures such as the Tin Man and the Cowardly Lion, and features the iconic clash between Glinda and Elphaba. It closes on a note of love and admiration, underscoring the enduring connection between the two friends.

The movie follows Elphaba’s exile in the forest, where she continues to fight for Oz’s Animals while exposing the Wizard’s deception. Meanwhile, Glinda thrives as the figurehead of Goodness, reveling in her popularity while preparing to marry Prince Fiyero, portrayed by Jonathan Bailey. Yet unresolved ties to Elphaba and her own conscience complicate her path. Their fractured relationship creates ripple effects that transform Boq, played by Ethan Slater, and endanger Elphaba’s sister Nessarose, played by Marissa Bode.
The cast also includes Bowen Yang and Bronwyn James as Glinda’s assistants, Pfannee and ShenShen, and Sharon D. Clarke as the voice of Elphaba’s childhood nanny, Dulcibear. The film is produced by Marc Platt and David Stone, with executive producers Stephen Schwartz, David Nicksay, Jared LeBoff, Winnie Holzman, and Dana Fox.
The first installment, released in November 2024, grossed $750 million worldwide, earning ten Academy Award nominations and winning two Oscars for Costume Design and Production Design. Wicked: For Good builds on that success with new material written by Winnie Holzman and Dana Fox, music and lyrics by Stephen Schwartz, and a score by John Powell and Schwartz.
Wicked: For Good premieres in theaters on November 21, 2025.
