Balenciaga Introduces Skiwear 2025 Collection

A performance-built lineup designed for both city wear and extreme winter conditions

Luxury house Balenciaga presents its Skiwear 2025 collection, a full wardrobe of technical menswear, womenswear and accessories designed for winter performance. The campaign frames the collection in motion through imagery by Aidan Zamiri, who photographs and films the pieces in urban settings rather than on the slopes, reinforcing the idea of snow gear adapted for everyday use.

The ready-to-wear selection includes reversible puffers, gilets, zip-up fleece layers, and parkas with hooded or high-collar constructions. Each item is built for insulation and weather protection through technologies such as Aquazip® closures, down-proof weaves, hidden elastics, water-repellent shells, and internal membranes. Several pieces also integrate the Recco® rescue system, a safety feature used in alpine environments.

The accessories and equipment expand the line into full ski readiness. Balenciaga develops limited-edition snowboards and skis with Italian manufacturers, engineered with a mirror surface finish. The capsule also introduces impact-absorbent helmets, lightweight poles and silver-tinted Mask goggles that echo the house’s sculptural approach to eyewear.

Footwear carries over the brand’s volume-led proportions. The Dumbo and Alaska styles return as outsized boots and platform mules in padded nylon or split calfskin for thermal comfort. Bags from the Explorer, Rodeo and Le City lines appear in winter materials, including fleece-lined suede and shearling-trimmed calfskin.

The brand also launches a Skiwear Arcade Game in tandem with the 2025 Skiwear Collection, available exclusively at the brand’s Zurich flagship from November 14 to December 15, 2025. The game, first introduced in 2023, returns with updated avatars dressed in digital versions of the new skiwear pieces, including insulated layers, aerodynamic silhouettes and technical accessories designed with the same cuts and materials seen in the physical collection. Players navigate an endless ski slope that shifts through three environments and three severe weather conditions while using Balenciaga skis. The pace increases as the avatar progresses, turning each level into a test of balance and control, with the objective of staying upright for as long as possible.
