Bottega Veneta Presents Bottega for Bottegas 2025

Celebrating Craftsmanship Across Venice, New York, and Milan

Bottega Veneta, a name immediately connected with Italian luxury and meticulous design, unveils the 2025 edition of its celebrated Bottega for Bottegas initiative. This year’s program shines a spotlight on master craftspeople from three cities that have profoundly influenced the house’s creative journey: Venice, New York, and Milan. Since its foundation in 2021, Bottega for Bottegas has evolved into an annual platform that champions the artistry and heritage of independent ateliers, each sharing Bottega Veneta’s unwavering dedication to exceptional craft.

Tracing the Brand’s Roots: From Venice to Milan and Beyond

Bottega Veneta’s story begins in Vicenza in 1966, but its spirit is inextricably linked to Venice’s centuries-old tradition of artisanship. The city’s distinctive landscape, history of cultural exchange, and reverence for handcrafting have left an indelible mark on the house’s DNA. Iconic signatures, such as the knot motif and the undulating glass of its debut fragrance bottles, are direct homages to Venetian artistry.

The house’s global perspective emerged early in its history. In a bold move, Bottega Veneta opened its first boutique outside Italy in 1972, selecting Madison Avenue in New York as its gateway to the world. This decision forged important ties with the city’s creative community and set the stage for the brand’s international ascent. By the late 1990s, Bottega Veneta relocated its creative hub to Milan, where its headquarters remain today, anchoring the brand in the epicenter of Italian fashion and design.

Bottega for Bottegas 2025: Celebrating Craft and Community

The latest Bottega for Bottegas collection brings together three remarkable objects, each representing the spirit and skill of its city of origin:

  • Milan: Two silver-plated goblets crafted by Ganci Argenterie, a workshop renowned for its time-honored silversmithing traditions.
  • New York: A set of sterling silver cocktail picks by Heath Wagoner, adorned with a distinctive knot detail, merging contemporary flair with classic references.
  • Venice: An exquisitely handbound notebook by Paolo Olbi, designed as a companion for recording cocktail recipes or capturing evening musings.

These creations pay homage not only to the cities that have shaped Bottega Veneta’s legacy but also to the cherished Italian ritual of aperitivo—a daily celebration of conviviality and the art of gathering, especially during the festive period.

Meet the Makers: Artisans Behind the 2025 Edition

Paolo Olbi – Venice’s Bookbinding Maestro

Born in Venice in 1937, Paolo Olbi is revered for his mastery of bookbinding and decorative paper arts. Olbi’s approach is rooted in hands-on learning and apprenticeship, resulting in works that blend precision, tradition, and intricate ornamentation. His notebooks are distinguished by motifs inspired by Venetian, Byzantine, and Islamic patterns, and his commitment to the craft extends to mentoring new generations of artisans. Olbi’s innovative spirit is evident in his experiments with marble, ceramics, and Murano glass, ensuring that the ancient practice of bookbinding remains vibrant and relevant.

Heath Wagoner – Silversmithing with a New York Edge

Heath Wagoner, based in Brooklyn, fuses his expertise in industrial and jewelry design with a passion for entertaining. Since establishing his studio in 2020, Wagoner has been creating barware and tableware that bring the refinement of fine jewelry to everyday rituals. His pieces are often embellished with marine and fishing motifs, a subtle nod to his family heritage. The sterling silver cocktail sticks crafted for Bottega for Bottegas 2025 showcase Wagoner’s signature attention to detail and his ability to infuse functional objects with elegance and narrative.
Ganci Argenterie – Milan’s Legacy of Silverwork

With roots dating back to 1926, Ganci Argenterie stands as one of Milan’s oldest silversmithing workshops. Now managed by the third generation of the Morandino family, Giovanna, Giuseppe, Giorgio, and Gianluca, the atelier is celebrated for its meticulous approach to casting, engraving, and hand-finishing. Ganci’s dedication to preserving tradition is matched by its openness to innovation, regularly collaborating with emerging designers, academic institutions, and global brands to keep the craft dynamic and forward-looking.

Bottega for Bottegas 2025 comes as a subtle yet important manner to celebrate the enduring value of skilled hands and creative vision. By bringing together artisans from Venice, New York, and Milan, Bottega Veneta reaffirms its belief that true luxury is born from collaboration, heritage, and a respect for local expertise. Each item in the collection is a celebration of both time-honored techniques and the contemporary pulse of their respective cities.
