CLOT and adidas continue their partnership with the introduction of a new silhouette titled the Qi Flow. Set to arrive during Spring Summer 2026, the sneaker expands the ongoing dialogue between the two brands through a design shaped by Eastern references and contemporary footwear construction. Led by Edison Chen, the project reflects CLOT’s sustained focus on bringing cultural elements into modern sneaker design while working within adidas’ established framework.
SNEAKERS
The Qi Flow joins a series of experimental releases from CLOT and adidas that previously reworked familiar models such as the Stan Smith, Gazelle, and Samba. This release introduces a new form that draws from footwear outside the traditional sneaker category.
An espadrille-inspired sole defines the base of the Qi Flow, giving the shoe a grounded, casual character. This sole choice shifts the visual language away from standard athletic tooling and places the sneaker closer to everyday wear. The low-profile construction supports the overall direction of the design, allowing the upper details to remain the focal point.
The upper uses a deconstructed black fabric that departs from conventional sneaker builds. The material treatment recalls the softness and flexibility of a slipper. This approach gives the Qi Flow a comfortable, relaxed presence while maintaining a clear sneaker identity. The fabric construction supports movement and wear without relying on rigid form.
Instead of standard laces, the Qi Flow features knotted button closures commonly associated with traditional Hanfu garments. These closures introduce a direct cultural reference while serving a functional role within the design. The knots sit along the upper in a deliberate arrangement, replacing familiar sneaker conventions with a fastening system rooted in Chinese dress.
A small faux pearl detail sits on the top knotted buttons, adding a subtle accent to the design. The Qi Flow arrives in a Black/White colorway, keeping the palette controlled and adaptable. While adidas and CLOT have not issued a formal announcement at the time of writing, the Qi Flow currently holds an expected release window between Spring and Summer 2026. The sneaker will be available through CLOT and adidas.
