From 13 to 16 January 2026, Heimtextil returns to Frankfurt as a key meeting point for the global textile and interior design industries. This edition places a strong spotlight on Carpets & Rugs, expanding the segment across four hall levels and offering a broad overview of today’s carpet market from industrial production to handcrafted, one-of-a-kind pieces.
Visitors can expect a diverse mix of machine-woven and hand-knotted carpets, international suppliers and premium unique rugs that combine traditional craftsmanship with contemporary design. The expanded layout brings together established market leaders, high-volume producers and artisanal manufacturers, making Heimtextil a practical sourcing and inspiration platform for designers, architects, retailers and contract professionals.

A new highlight for 2026 is Future Floor, a curated area dedicated to textile flooring trends, innovation and knowledge exchange. Here, product showcases are complemented by talks, guided tours and discussions that explore current developments in design, materials and sustainability offering visitors insight into where the carpet industry is heading.
Design, craftsmanship and technology come together most visibly in “among-all”, an immersive installation by Patricia Urquiola in Hall 3.0. Using artificial intelligence, the installation responds to visitors’ movements, turning them into active participants within the space. Through textiles that shift between soft and structural forms, Urquiola explores how fabrics can shape environments, interaction and experience.

Furthermore, sustainability and material innovation play a central role, with circular materials, production remnants and experimental textiles demonstrating how responsible design can be embedded from the earliest stages of creation. The installation reflects a broader theme at Heimtextil 2026: the evolving relationship between craft and technology, echoed in the Heimtextil Trends 25/26 theme Craft is a Verb, curated by Alcova.
Overall, Heimtextil 2026 offers a concise but wide-ranging look at the future of textiles where carpets, materials and making are redefined through innovation, sustainability and human interaction.
